Angela Metzger

is a concert organist from Munich who brings her audience closer to the whole range of organ literature; her mission is to interpret organ music from the late Renaissance to the present day in a refreshing new way ‒ precisely, and with a distinct sense for the powerful magic of the “Queen of Music Instruments”. She takes pride in creating a profound understanding for each musical era by immersing herselfin every piece. She loves sharing her discoveries from her research with her audience. During her performances she provides entertaining short introductions, hus making modern and contemporary repertoire accessible to everyone.

Angela performs regularly in Germany, Europe and elsewhere throughout the world. Her concert journeys have taken her to Bad Homburg, Toulouse, Turin and Bern. She has performed in Egypt, at the Musashino Civic Cultural Hall in Tokyo in Japan and the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman.

During her musical career Angela Metzger has received numerous prizes for her art: she has won awards at international organ competitions in Tokyo, Saint-Maurice in Switzerland, Wuppertal and in the competition of the German public broadcaster ARD. In 2015, Angela received the Bayernwerk Cultural Award for exceptional achievements in music.
